Client: SEEDA and the Land Restoration
Trust
We have worked extensively with SEEDA
and the Land Restoration Trust to provide operational advice
to help deliver a unique leisure destination in East Kent.
The product is
focused on cycling and as a first stage of development a 3.2
km cycle track has been introduced to help regenerate the
former colliery spoil site. The site is now operational
providing a quality facility for both professional and
recreational cyclists,
Our work focussed on
carrying out a comprehensive leisure options review and
business appraisal and to consider the long term
implications for site management and operating parameters to
help create a sustainable product for the long term.

Country Park / Leisure Destination, North West
Client: Homes and Communities Agency
Working in a multi-disciplinary team we examined the optimum
mix of tourism and leisure facilities in the regeneration of
a former coal field located on a Green Belt site close to
Manchester into a innovative mixed use country park. Our
work included detailed research, bench-marking,
consultation, business planning to identify suitable end
uses and developing an exit Strategy along with management
options.
Following on from our earlier work we worked
alongside chartered surveyors and agents Savills to seek out
end operators for the project. End uses include a 18-hole
golf course, country park with visitor centre and adventure
activity centre.
